That sounds like a radical statement, almost unbelievable. According to a 2022 study conducted by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health it is a fact and it is a fact right here in the USA.

At Veterans Against Gun Violence we are staunch supporters of the 2nd Amendment. Most of us have fought on foreign soil to insure it's existence, but that doesn't mean we support it's misuse!

You often hear, "a gun is a tool, in the right hands it does good, not evil", but imagine any other tool that guaranteed it's user a 9 out of 10 chance of commiting a successful suicide. Can you think of any other tool that could be stolen and then used by a criminal to murder innocent people with impunity?

Your cell phone and your laptop have a finger print reader that allows them to be used, only by the rightful owner, why doesn't your firearm. Imagine a gun that could be used by you in any manner you see fit, yet would be completely useless to a criminal or any other unauthorized user. It would be very easy to take it one step further: Imagine a gun that wouldn't fire when the user pointed it at themself. With the current state of technology, a device much smaller than an aiming laser could easily sense when a gun is held in a position to kill it's user. It is time for gun manufacturers to be responsible citizens and add systems to their weapons that prevent use by the unauthorized. We at Veterans Against Gun Violence have taken up this challenge and are flooding our elected officials email and post office boxes with support for these efforts. I urge you to help us in this endeavor. Become a subscribing donor, save a child's life, help keep a distraught law enforcement officer from committing suicide, don't allow another criminal to steal a gun that can be used against humanity. Donate today.
